My BFF, Debbie Ohi, is getting ready to relaunch (in a matter of speaking) a web comic that she originally started in anticipation of the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy hitting theaters. In the wake of The Hobbit (and some sort of sequel) getting into pre-production, Waiting for Bilbo dot com is almost here. The original series, Waiting for Frodo, is still available, which can tide you over while we’re waiting for waitingforbilbo.

To say I’m psyched would be an understatement. Here’s the meat of its specs:

  • Pentium Dual Core E2180 (not a core 2 duo)
  • 3gb of ram
  • 500gb hard drive (SATA II)
  • Geforce 8500GT
  • Some TV Tuner

The processor is a treat. No, it’s not the faster Core 2 Duo model, it’s more like its little cousin. But get this, this processor overclocks super easily, and can actually perform in the same league as the Core 2 Extreme chips. This is with stock cooling, nothing after market. Don’t believe me? Click this link and read the last paragraph. It’s about the 2160, not the 2180, but they’re essentially the exact same processor, with the 2180 clocking 200mhz faster at stock speeds. The 8500GT is nowhere near top of the line, but with the cpu coupled with the 3gb of ram, I anticipate being able to play The Orange Box without any issues at all. My Steam ID is Ninja_bot (with the underscore) if anyone wants to kick the crap out of my Pyro in Team Fortress 2.
